LSR7 Update 4/3/20: Lee’s Summit R-7 School District announces updates to virtual instruction plan

While school closures extend through April 24, 2020, Lee’s Summit R-7 Schools will provide virtual learning. On April 3, 2020, the district announced updates to its virtual instruction plan. Starting this Monday, April 6, 2020, the district will designate Mondays as a planning and collaboration day for staff. Students will access virtual lessons Tuesday- Friday. Read the FAQ below for additional updates.

LS Educational Foundation to host Taste of Lee’s Summit March 7

The Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation will host the 21st annual Taste of Lee’s Summit on March 7 to raise money in support of excellence in education in our community. This year’s theme is “2020 Vision,” a salute to a new decade and exciting upcoming projects. This event will begin at 6 p.m. and is located at The Pavilion at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit (adults 21 and over only). Advance tickets are required.

Hundreds of young engineers, both current students and alumni, have one person in common: Nancy Spatz.

The Lee’s Summit West technology specialist and robotics coach and February Learning for Life winner plans and teaches STEM camps, supports tournaments, runs the LSW robotics program and fosters robotics programs across the district, including Trailridge Elementary’s.
