Board of Education moves forward with Interim Superintendent search and administrative recommendations
At their August 5, 2019, meeting, the Board of Education approved several items of note regarding an Interim Superintendent search, a permanent Superintendent search and administrative positions for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Board of Education will begin a search for an Interim Superintendent this week. The interim position will post tomorrow, August 7th, and be open through end-of-business on August 12th. Upon the post closing, the Board of Education will be working through a selection process.
Additionally, the Board of Education voted to proceed with the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Superintendent search firm. A search firm would support the Board of Education in a permanent Superintendent search process.
For administrative roles, the Board approved Dr. Jennifer Kephart as the Associate Superintendent of Instructional Services. For the 2019-2020 school year, Ms. Carol Germano will serve as a 550 (550 equals 550 hours of service per school year) for Elementary Instruction and Dr. Don Andrews will serve as a 550 (550 equals 550 hours of service per school year) for Secondary Instruction. In addition to her current role as Executive Director of Special Services, Dr. Staci Mathes will provide supplemental support for the elementary instruction role. Ms. Germano previously served as an elementary principal in our school district and Dr. Andrews previously served as an Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Instruction in our school district.
The Board of Education commits to communicating updates throughout the Interim Superintendent search and we will provide information as it’s available.
