Congratulations to Summit Technology Academy’s Dawn Carl, our November Learning for Life Award winner

District field technology specialist Dawn Carl learned she is LSR7’s November Learning for Life Award winner during a surprise presentation attended by colleagues and family at Summit Technology Academy. Learning for Life Award winners are nominated by co-workers and selected by a team of employees each year. The award is presented to one employee each month and rotates between elementary certified, secondary certified and support staff.

“I’ll just start by saying Dawn Carl is a ‘hero’ to our Business, Marketing, and Information Technology Department,” one nominator wrote. “…(Dawn) never gives up on a problem and if she doesn’t already know the answer, she is the first person to jump online and do the research needed to find a solution. I could provide example after example where she has ‘rescued’ us when things haven’t worked. I cannot tell you how much I and my department appreciate Dawn and believe she deserves to be recognized for her contribution, achievement, and commitment!”

Said another nominator:

“Many times Dawn has rushed in and helped make fixes so that students would not lose instructional time. This is a lot of work on her part given all the complicated software we run. She does much more than install it, she tries to learn and understand it to better support us. When others have told us a fix could take days, Dawn has stayed late and taken care of the issue much faster than that so the kids wouldn’t miss out!”

Congratulations, Ms. Carl! We’re grateful you are a part of LSR7.
